9/6/2025 Route: Williams Traverse from Lost Man Posted On: 9/7/2025, By: kyrawhitworth Info: Early morning frost on the rocks but was gone by the time we descended summit 2. Summit 3 was the most difficult for us on both the ascent and the descent so I’ve added some photos. The gpx from yaktoleft13 was immensely valuable and accurate. The blocky section to the summit of 3 was definitely C4. We descended the rocks on the other side of the cairn because we couldn’t see it but it went just fine. The grassy ledge descent was weird and frankly bad—Ryan threw on microspikes and this helped. I don’t think where we first dropped down was the right spot but I had upclimbed (circle in photo) to verify that it did go but it was exposed and uncomfortable. The most fun scrambling is on summit 4 (Williams) as it seemed like most lines would go. This traverse took us 16hrs (we weren’t moving fast) but just plan on it taking longer than you think as the terrain is sucky for well most of it. |
