Bridal Peak

Condition Updates
Route: From Columbine Lake
Posted On: 7/31/2021, By: supranihilest
Info: Bridal Peak is by far the easiest of this group. I technically started this peak from "T 12", but the directions are the same. Stay in the basin Columbine Lake is housed in (don't attempt to go into Bridal Veil Basin descending from "T 12"; it's all cliffs) and head in the general direction of Bridal Peak across tundra and occasional rock. Bridal's south ridge has a trail to the summit. Return to Columbine Lake trail, do not descend into Mill Creek drainage.

Route: South Ridge

Info: Went north from Columbine Lake to T12 and Bridal saddle. Climbed class 2 south ridge to summit. Scree slope with faint trail that was snow free.

Route: Columbine Lake trail (#509)

Info: Trail is mostly snow free until just below tree-line. Then you'll probably lose it. Just follow the creek into the basin. From there it's mostly snow. We used snow shoes almost immediately on the ascent due to some small, but annoying postholes. On the way out, we mostly glissaded and plunge stepped. We used crampons on some higher angle slopes. The snow was mostly supportive at 11/11:30 am on the way out. The road is clear to the trail head. Very easy 4WD - the only challenge for a 2WD might be some steeper loose spots. Both pics are from the summit looking into the upper approach basin.
