|Peak:||Mt. Sheridan (13er)|
|Date of Info:||12/18/2010|
Drove to just beyond the Leavick mine, at the first wide pull-off on the left. No problems in 4x4 jeep getting there.
Snowshoed from there to the gate of "standard route" of Sherman. Cached shoes.
Hung a left (S/SW) at the Dauntless Mine and headed up the slope from there. Mostly wind scoured.
Hiked the low angle, mostly devoid of snow, E slopes to summit of Sheridan.
A bit windy. (Probably sustained 20‘s)
Blowing snow. A bit cold. But a good day in the mountains!
Planned to go down the NE ridge to Sherman, but the winds and snow took its toll on us, so we descended our ascent route, went home.
