Climbed the class 3 west ridge of Pacific today (6/22). 4wd road up Mayflower Gulch is not passable due to snow drifts, made it less than a mile up. Willow bashing was fun (not), but no snow in the basin until you get up in the drainage by Mayflower Hill. The snowfields were primarily firm, minimal postholing but deep when I did. West ridge on Pacific is almost snow free, two snow fields, one I crossed and was glad to have my axe, the other I dropped down on the right side of the ridge to avoid. Fun climbing on the ridge!

descending is my least favorite part of any climb so i might have a biased answer..the talus on the lower portion sucks. the higher section of the west ridge of atlantic has a lot of snow still, some avoidable some not (check the pics on the atlantic report). i did some class 3 moves below the ridge to avoid some of the snowier sections. the rest is just a talus/boulder slope

BagginPeaks thanks for your info. We did the loop yesterday and weather was awesome except for the wind from Pacific to Atlantic. Then it picked up most of the way down the west ridge. We used the axe in the same spot as you near the top of Pacific as well as the area at the snow cornice (west ridge of Atlantic because of high wind), all of the snow in the basin above the trees was getting very soft even as we got there around 7. Post holed a lot but got through it. snow on the road still lets you in only .04 of a mile but was a river on the way out so it should melt quickly.
