Parked at the Matterhorn Creek TH and hiked up the Ridge Stock Trail to the pass just below Matterhorn Peak. Hot son about a half mile before the pass. Pass itself was fairly snowy but very consolidated. We descended and rounded Unc. and ascended the standard trail. Long ways around but was very pretty with green tundra spots perched out in between snowfields.
Summit was fantastic. We descended the SW coliour but was only able to glissade the bottom third of it due to its steepness and the fact it was still pretty hard. Would make a decent snow climb right now. Had to walk down the upper two thirds with crampons. The snow didn't soften too much throughout the dyad we only potholed a few times on the return back over the pass.
I also climbed Matterhorn without snow on the slope above the pass and the class 3 part at the top was a breeze.
Photos will come with my large TR coming in mid to late July.
