Just updating the conditions from 2 days ago--maybe helpful to the big group tomorrow--went bottom to top in microspikes--only annoying area is the slope right above the trees--some postholing but about 12 guys followed me up and now there is a nice trench. Not worth lugging snowshoes, IMO. Doesn't get any easier than this. Feel like I only deserve half a snowflake!
