A snowcat and snowmobiles have packed the snow on the road up to the summer trailhead. Drainage from the bridge to the sign was solid and probably walkable with only spikes; I was on skis. The only rough part was the ridge crossing (Photo 8 in route description). Did it in ski boots, but some kind of traction would make it easier. Used micro spikes from the ridge upward.

I‘m not an expert by any means but snow seemed very stable and solid from the saddle yesterday. I skied the north slopes from about 13,000‘ to the runout, hiked about a quarter mile to the sign, and skied to the car.

Do you happen to have any pics of the North Slope of Grays and that area around 12900-13100? The slope angle in these areas is around 30-35', trying to understand if there is enough snow to make it dangerous.

I didn‘t get any pictures. I skied west of the spur at 13,000‘ where the slopes are generally under 30 degrees. I‘m fairly risk averse when out by myself and felt the conditions were pretty safe yesterday, however, I still didn‘t do any loitering in the runout zone.
