"In September 2024, a couple weeks after that initial search, German set off for another solo trip with Zachary Smith, a Vail Mountain Rescue colleague, and they hiked back to the couloirs on the northeast side. "
What is "Solo trip"?
Earlier Outside article is definitely much better.

My interpretation is they went out on their own. It wasn't a coordinated effort by VMRG (just on that one trip).
"Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived,'"

Thanks for the clarification.
The story was on the top of the front page of the Sunday edition of the Post. That’s kind of a big deal.

Wow that's good to hear an update from the initial found items in 2024 and the family now has closure.

Sorry Buster never got to be recognized for signalling where Vanek's remains were in the weeks after she went missing. I realize that's a stupid thing to think when discussing a person dying in an accident and children and a husband (and I believe her parents were still alive at the time) who lost their loved one and never knew for sure what happened. I can't imagine their grief and anger and anxiety at the unknown. I hope they can get some relief from laying her remains to rest.
