Thanks for sharing. I was just up there yesterday and saw the SAR crew mustering at the helipad on my drive out of Lake Como. I saw AVSAR's facebook post, but was curious what had happened. Glad they were able to perform a quick rescue and hopefully the climber makes a fast recovery.

Was thinking that when I saw this posted on Facebook. Hats off to the SAR crews, they are really working hard out there.

Positive thoughts to the climber. We can only imagine the thoughts that entered his mind as soon as this happened, and then being stuck there, waiting for help. But SAR was all over it and we have another positive outcome from a tough situation.
And thanks for posting this link. I knew sites like thenextsummit.orq would be all over this incident for marketing clicks, so it's good to have an article from an actual news site.

outtherecolorado isn't much of an "actual news" site, either. Here's AVSAR's post on the latest incident:
Hmm, weird, it's saying it's not available, although I'm looking at it in another tab. Gotta love FB. Anyway, it's under here somewhere:

I paid my 20 bucks this year to renew my CORSAR card. These SAR folks are the angels of the mountains, God bless them all..

He camped next to us overnight at Como. We talked that morning early about the possibility of storms rolling in that day and not having time to bag Blanca and Ellingwood both possibly. He left before us and we met again as we were going up Blanca and he was going down and about to head to Ellingwood and we told him we were not going to try both with the clouds moving in and his response was "we got time"... By the time we made it back to Como from bagging Blanca it had started to storm up on the peaks...

I learned years ago, you always have time… Until you don’t… It happens super quick, and then you’re screwed

This is incorrect. You did not talk to the person that fell. They never descended that day to be able to meet someone else. They also didn't camp right at como.
