2024 Supported14er Speed Record- Francis
Hey everyone! As seems to be customary, I wanted to post in here about my intent to go for The Colorado 14er Speed Record this summer.
The current record is held by Andrew Hamilton, and stands at 9 days, 21 hours. My goal time is around the 9 day mark. Andrew and Andrea have both been extremely supportive of me chasing the record, even while they chase their own record this summer! Hopefully our paths will cross.
I will be starting on July 5th 4:30 AM, in The Chicago Basin. If everything goes to plan, I will finish 9 days later on Longs Peak. I am writing this as I wait for the train to leave Durango!
I will be utilizing a Garmin Inreach for all of my tracking, and my crew will be updating a blog throughout the duration of the attempt. They will be managing nearly all of my communication during the attempt. I will post on Instagram as it is practical.
I have worked for three years to be in a position to go for this record. I am extremely grateful, excited, and nervous to set out on this attempt! This year feels different in so many ways from last. Thank you for all the support!

Although Andrew's record is astounding (personally I had believed that Cave Dog's record might outlive me), records were made to be broken. Here is hoping that you stay safe and aren't thwarted by anything.

Good luck Drew!
I'll try to keep stats but there will be a lot of balls in the air.

Drew flew through the Chicago Basin, it looks like he was at the train before 10:15am!
Re: 2024 Supported14er Speed Record- Francis
He was there at 10:05 am. He's fast. His tracker is frozen so I don't know whether the train left on time.

Less than 6 hrs, sitting there waiting for the train to arrive. Blows my mind!

Is Lindsey summit open again? I wonder how Drew and AA got permission to climb it if it is still closed. Very fun watching both of these journeys!
