Overdue hiker - Cooper Creek, Every, Gudy, CT info?

Post by bmcqueen » Mon Oct 05, 2020 1:05 pm

Trying to track down info on a young man who is overdue. Last seen by denvermikey descending the UN Cents above Lake City Saturday about 11:30 AM wearing a "Jesuit" shirt as he was heading back towards the Red Cloud saddle. Per his itinerary, he may have been heading over Cooper Creek, Every, Gudy and C.T. to return to his vehicle at Grizzly Gulch.

Per his friend's FB post - "He’s a fast mover. Tall, brown hair, normally in shorts. In touch with the sheriffs office and they are putting SAR out."

Anyone who may have been on/around those peaks Sat or Sun with any info? No Sat/Sun summits of any of those reported on LofJ.

This is a friend of mine...I am really hoping for the best. I am going to try to run down there to help the SAR team tomorrow.

Praying for a good outcome

Looking at your map 13180 is a 13er that seems to be typically done with those Peaks. Not sure what his goals are but may be something to consider also.

Does anyone know what he could have been wearing during his hike?
I saw the post saying he is keen on wearing shorts. Perhaps the blue jacket as seen in the picture?

Hoping for good news today....Stay safe out there friends. Always tell your loved ones your plan like Ben did.

His top (shirt/jacket) had 'Jesuit' across the front.

I am a friend of his and hiked with him a couple years ago.
I don't have any directly helpful information. But this is what I know about him:
He has completed all the 14ers. I am unsure if he is attempting to do them again.
He was probably working on the 13ers.
He is also interested in the county high points.
He is a very capable and knowledgeable climber and hiker.
Jesuit is his high school. The school colors are navy and gold. But I don't know what he was wearing.
