Any more news about this accident? I can not find anything on the internet or local news papers. Terrible news for her family and friends.

Haven’t seen anything in the Durango Herald they usually cover accidents in the San Juans.

Outside of that facebook post from the SO, I haven't seen or heard anything in the news. It does seem unusual. Maybe the family requested no press coverage.

Unfortunately, this was my sister, Emily, she was 29 years old. I've been watching climbing videos on Eolus and trying to figure out what happened but this Facebook post sums up most of what I know. A few added notes is she fell around 100-150ft and died within seconds from a head injury and her body slid another 400 ft. They found her at these coordinates 37.62213 /-107.61904. I know she did meet and talk to a few other hikers in the area but was alone during this peak. If anyone has any other info or theories about what/where it happened I would like to hear them.
She hiked 29 14ers (including Snowmass the week before this happened) and skied 120 times last season. My sister was amazing, super charismatic, friendly, and hilarious. Words couldn’t possibly convey how deeply her loss is felt across all the relationships she forged with people around the world. I'll miss her forever.

Very sorry for the loss of Emily she sounds like an amazing young woman.
I’m trying to figure out where the helicopter is in the picture. Would guess the other side of Eolus from Chicago Basin but not sure.

So sorry for your loss.
Not sure if this helps, but I climbed all the 14ers, but Eoulus was the the one and only that I ran into problems. I successfully climbed up, and crossed “ the catwalk”, however, once across I dropped down into the face as the route recommended. Here, I was coerced across the face following some bad cairns, I went back and forth for 30 minutes trying to find the correct path,…this was a sketchy area that had about a 3 foot wide ledge sloping away. I finally found a step up back by the entrance, and from there pretty much home free, but again, sketchy area I got in. If this was the area, let me know. Again, so sorry my friend.
