Anyone been up there this week? Is the road clear all the way to the mine? How do the camp sites look?

Sweet, thanks. For whatever reason I suck at successfully looking up trailhead info on this site.

I'm going to assume if some of the road still has snow drifts, the camping sites in the woods are likely still snowy.

I bet the large open areas, next to the river and power lines, are fairly dry and you could camp. I think the snow on the road was probably in the heavily-forested areas

Maybe we'll give it a go and see. It has been almost a week since that report.

As an aside, just how contaminated is that water? Would you even use it for dish washing?

Well, I wouldn't. :) It's pretty nasty up there.

I'd recommend just picking up one of those 2.5gal jugs at the store. That's what we do when we camp up there

The snow was from an Avy Path, at that point the meadow area was really muddy and wet from runoff as well. There were some dry sites lower down, they were mostly occupied Saturday night. We camped in the car in a smaller site just above Chihuahua Gulch turnoff. We brought our own water.
