Used Routes app this past weekend to throw in another option for a free app with offline maps (must be downloaded separately) and gpx route viewing/tracking. Wasn't crazy about it, but it did the job. Sounds like I need to look into peakbagger.

I've gotten very used to Gaia these last few years. The $40/year is worth it for all the extra map layers you get, and the ability to layer transparencies ontop of one another, but the free version works like a charm if you don't care about all of that. I would recommend Gaia to anyone, free version or not.

I'm in camp CalTopo. Any of the suggested apps are excellent, try them out and find out which one you like best.
