Significant Problems Editing Trip Reports
I am having significant problems trying to write a trip report. It seems the site is not saving any progress that I make on a trip report, even when I use the 'Save' button frequently. I spent an hour working on a report yesterday and for some reason all the text and in-line photos I placed weren't saved. The photos that I added to the photo pool are still saved, but none of the text is saving. I tried refreshing the editor page several times but all progress was lost. I then started over and re-wrote a smaller portion of the report. Today, I logged in and tried to continue writing but all progress from my second attempt yesterday has been lost. No amount of refreshing is fixing the problem. In the editor mode, a single refresh also gives me the message 'Sorry, you can't upload photos' in the Photos tab. I tried signing out and back in, and restarting my internet browser (Firefox). Any ideas about what is going wrong? Do I need to write, save and publish the entire trip report in a single session, since saving doesn't seem to work anymore?

Re: Significant Problems Editing Trip Reports
Seems like something’s been up for a few months with not all the photos being saved as intended.

Re: Significant Problems Editing Trip Reports
This has happened to me a couple times in the past.
To avoid this problem I upload the photos, then type a report off the site, then copy it into 14ers.com and drop in the photos.

Re: Significant Problems Editing Trip Reports
Bill I've seen instances where there sometimes a lot more photos in the thumbnails toward the bottom than there are actual photos added to the report up above. Mismatched number of photos. Hopefully that makes some sense. When I come across an example I'll include here.BillMiddlebrook wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 10:21 am I'll take a look. Sorry for the hassle.

Here's one, Bill... https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/triprepo ... trip=22347 There are only 10 photos in the TR itself, but 28 in the thumbnails. Let me know if I'm being a total bozo and missing something! Maybe Kiefer can shed some light since the example is his??greenonion wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 11:27 amBill I've seen instances where there sometimes a lot more photos in the thumbnails toward the bottom than there are actual photos added to the report up above. Re: Significant Problems Editing Trip Reports
^Yup, just because an author uploads 28 photos, it doesn’t mean they embed them all in the report text for larger viewing. The thumbnails simply reflect the uploaded photos.
The uploaded photos (thumbnails) are a photo “pool” the author has to work from. If they don’t embed some in the report there will be more thumbnails at the bottom of the final report vs. ones in the text of the report.

Thanks, Bill. Sorry to waste your time on that. My dad schooled me on this function just a bit ago, so I’m good now!BillMiddlebrook wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 11:52 am ^Yup, just because an author uploads 28 photos, it doesn’t mean they embed them all in the report text for larger viewing.
