Thanks for the information, much appreciated! How was the quality of the road? I'm debating If I want to brave my way up to rainbow trailhead or just start from the lower trailhead.
Well, there was a Subie at the upper TH so...... :-k
In the 10x times I've been up there, I always see a Subie up there. And (just about) every time I say to myself "I would not bring a Subie up here".

That's one of the axioms of Colorado: No matter how rugged the road, someone will somehow drive a Subaru up it.

The Subaru I saw up there last year popped a tire on the way up and made it to the upper TH on a donut spare! Hate to pop that donut on the way down
