This whole mess is because a law was challenged, and an interpretation of that law has now definitely changed.

Idk. There's more billboards but those kinds of lawsuits aren't new either. Yet there's been access in the past.madmattd wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 12:08 pmThe laws haven't generally changed, no. But the number of ambulance-chasing lawyers and the number of people who sue to cover (pay) for their personal mistakes has risen substantially over the last couple decades. Just look at all the billboards on the highway...Above_Treeline wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 11:49 am Have personal injury laws changed? Doubt it. Or is it just the people take their cues off Fox news etc and think it's the thing to do?
Years ago at a canoe trails meeting, I think, here, they mentioned local landowners complained about (probably pretty minimal) traffic to a public boat ramp on a public road. And got traction! And there's the case in Montana where the public lands meet at a corner. Hunters built stairs to go from one square of public land to another on a corner, over private land and got cited!!! And I didn't feel like they rolled out the welcome wagon going to lily lake TH, either
Numerous threats:to recreational land access. Especially from, but not limited to, the Republican party
I support reintroducing grizzlies and wolves to their historic ranges.

The state in question is Wyoming: It’s Public Land. But the Public Can’t Reach It.
Recent similar questions in Colorado: Crossing from one parcel of public land to another in Colorado creates a private-property conundrum that’s proven tough to fix

Sarcasm or not, it's not even funny to post something like this. Not at this time. Reported.

When we get a bit closer to the Kite Lake road opening, I'll pin a thread on this topic and put warnings on the route descriptions and trailhead.

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
