Jeff Heiderer - Winter 14er Finisher #9
I was privileged to spend New Year Eve on Capitol with Jeff (Mickey's Grenade) and Will (mountain_stoke). It was Jeff's 59th Winter summit, making him only the 9th finisher. He has been my go-to partner for many of my Winter summits, and has continually demonstrated the perseverance it takes to accomplish this difficult goal. You've earned it - every painful mile, every sleepless night, every frozen toe and finger. Congratulations Jeff!
Re: Jeff Heiderer - Winter 14er Finisher #9
Good job to the three of you and to Jeff for finishing the winter list!

Re: Jeff Heiderer - Winter 14er Finisher #9
Jeff is a humble dude who has a passion for climbing and mountaineering. I have known him for 7 years and he is my main rock climbing partner. We met on a Kilimanjaro trip and have been rock climbing together for years. On that trip Jeff suffered the effects of HAPE (High Altitude Pulminary Edema) but still managed to summit. After summitting though he evac’d under his own power all the way out of the park. If I had to guess that means he got up at midnight, hiked from 15,000ft to 19,000ft+, then hiked probably 25+ miles out of the park – all while suffering the effects of HAPE. I remember what a ridiculously hard feat that was and thought to myself “damn what a badass that dude is”. I have heard many more stories like this about Jeff over the years.
Jeff gets after it like nobody else I know. He lives to climb – and he’s good at it – really good – and committed. I think you have to be to complete a challenge like doing the 14ers in Winter.
Jeff is an accomplished rock climber. He is solid with Sport, Trad, Crack Climbing, Desert Towers and ice climbing. I've done hundreds of rock routes with him in Moab, Indian Creek, Eldo, Boulder Canyon, CCC, state parks, Devil's Head and more. He is also accomplished at Alpine with ascents like The Spearhead, The Sharkstooth and more.
Here is a short list of his accomplishments that I was able to put together (and I'm sure I'm missing a lot of stuff)

Congrats, Jeff!
