Yes so I would grant him completion in "just over one calendar year". Assuming his Capitol summit is valid of course and all other discrepancies addressed.

Bean, did you find a different photo?

That photo is the day after the photo I'm referring to, which is on the front page of Jon's website.

Looks like he did make the summit on that trip - here's the about page from his newest site:

Any pics from Pyramid?

Denver Post story:

Jon Kedrowski already set a record for sleeping atop all the Colorado fourteeners in 2011. Now he’s one peak shy of skiing from the top of all 54 of the state’s highest peaks in record time.

If the 37-year-old Vail adventurer can ski from the precipitous summit of Capitol Peak in the rugged Elk Range before the snow melts, he will shave more than five months off the record for climbing and skiing all of the state’s fourteeners. Kedrowski has skied 53 of the official 54 peaks higher than 14,000 feet in Colorado since Jan. 4, including 33 summits in April and May alone.

^from the above link:
I tend toward caution, and I’m not afraid to wait. I always kind of put off Capitol this year for a variety of reasons,” [Kedrowski] said. “Sometimes it just felt unsafe, especially during the storms of April and May. But really I would not trade the way this went for anything.”

"I get scared sometimes—lots of times—but it's not bad. You know? I feel close to myself. When I'm out there at night, I feel close to my own body, I can feel my blood moving, my skin and my fingernails, everything, it's like I'm full of electricity and I'm glowing in the dark—I'm on fire almost—I'm burning away into nothing—but it doesn't matter because I know exactly who I am." from The Things They Carried

I'm glad the author understands which peaks have 300' of prominence and which don't:

List includes “official 54” set by Lou Dawson, Chris Davenport and Ted Mahon, the first three people to ski all the state’s fourteeners, as well optional fourteener sub-summits like Cameron, Challenger Point and North Eolus, which do not have at least 300 feet of prominence separating them from other fourteeners to identify them as independent peaks.

The article states:
"Kedrowski took four attempts to ski the daunting Pyramid Peak in the Elk Range, finally skiing from the summit on June 1"
I still haven't seen anything that showed he skied it from the summit on June 1st and it's difficult to see how he got it based on his Spot tracking.

Jon, please show us something from the Pyramid summit ski. If you're going to claim the summit and put yourself in the list of 14er ski finishers, you should expect people from the ski mountaineering community to have some questions. You can clear this up and cement your standing as a finisher by simply filling in some gaps for those of us who have interest in this topic.

And to be clear, I'm not posting this to criticize or belittle your accomplishments; I think your drive and physical stamina to ski so many peaks in such a short period of time is quite amazing. I'm simply looking for clarity. Ski mountaineering is a big part of my life and I have friends who have skied all of the 14ers. If you're going to put yourself in that group, I don't see anything wrong with answering some questions. :)

Skiing South Maroon

We rejoined the summer route as we wrapped to the west side of the mountain for a fun scramble with a couple pitches of steeper snow climbing, finishing on a gentle ridge ramp to Maroon Peak's spectacular summit. I had a 5:30pm work flight to catch in Denver and was already running a little behind. And Jon would be driving down to Durango that evening to catch the train into the Chicago Basin the following morning, so was also eager to get back to the trailhead. We quickly retraced our tracks back to our skis. Jon and I clipped in, said bye to the others, that weren't in such a rush, and raced down.

Well Jon went back on June 1st. Which is the date I suppose he is claiming for the summit ski. Just need a photo/gps track or something to convince the masses.

Just checked his wiki page again...looks like the changes some folks made to make it less biased are gone?
