Nolan's 14 Season (Many Attempts)

Post by thebeave7 »

In the next month I know of no less than 15 people that will be attempting all or some portion of Nolans 14. I figured I'd start a thread here for people to follow the various attempts while we're all sitting at our desks bored at work
I will update THIS POST with info about each attempt so that people can simply refer back to the first post for the participants, some basic info on them and their tracking links.

At 5pm on 8/7/14 Peter Jones and Kendrick Callaway started from the Leadville Fish Hatchery, both are trail runners and peak baggers with some experience on the route.

At least two more are going to be attempting it on Labor Day weekend as well. Eric, I think that somewhere in this mess you will find a few more to join your little club.

I know of a dozen or so people attempting on labor day, two that stand out and I assume are the guys you are referring to.

Because Google maps marks labelled peaks are completely unpredictable from a given zoom level, I found this helpful as a good reference for anyone wanting a rough visual on what could be a possible route, I pulled this off of Matt Mahoney's website.

Any ladies ? I heard Anna Frost is staking the course out. She should even have a chance of breaking the record.

Jomagam,

I know of one very strong lady with mutliday race experience who will be starting next week. I'll keep it a secret til then 8) but its not Anna Frost, I have no clue on her intentions, 60hours is a long time....
Still no woman has finished all 14 peaks in under 60hours, though this may change....

Hell, in the next month I may be attempting some portion of Nolans 14. But I'm not in it for the time, and I can promise I won't be announcing it beforehand. Lastly you won't be able to track me anyways, cause I don't carry a tracking device.

Carry on.

Very interesting. Does that mean Frosty is not going for it, though?

Kendrick and Peter stopped after summiting five peaks. Was really hoping they'd pull it off.

Brett and Missy Gosney along with Jason Koop started their Nolans14 attempt at 6am on Sunday morning. As of this posting at 6pm on Sunday afternoon they have already completed Massive, Elbert and are descending Laplata, making pretty good time.

See the first post for tracking info.
