Jacket and Pants

Postby zephyr_pelicante » Wed Oct 03, 2012 11:48 am

To continue climbing I need to get some "gear" for colder winter. Specifically I need some sort of waterproof "ski" pants and a pair of waterproof boots. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any sales? I'm a 6'0" male.

I'm considering the following:

$46 http://www.amazon.com/Arctix-1960-Classic-Cargo-Pants/dp/B005SRCAHG/
$80 http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Mens-Bugaboo-Compass-XX-Large/dp/B005CV5KQQ/

$74 http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Sportswear-Bugaboot-Black-Gunmetal/dp/B004LP2KCQ/
$75 http://www.amazon.com/Hi-Tec-Mens-Altitude-Hiking-Chocolate/dp/B000RUGEJ4/

I'm going to look at BIG 5 this afternoon to see if they have anything comparable.

Any advice is helpful. Let me know if you know of any sales. I'm a cheap college student so the cheaper the better.

Check out the REI garage sales if you don't mind slightly used gear...they are doing several this month at different Denver locations. The last time I went, I found several solid deals on great gear. An example: my wife got a brand new pair (used once, returned because they squeaked, no joke) of $300 Zamberlan boots for $10.

If you want new, check out steepandcheap or sierratradingpost.
