Thank you everyone with your out pouring of love and support.

Chris was not rushing, running or doing anything foolish. He even was wearing a helmet.

He simply lost his hands and fell 200ft unto his head and died on contact.

Thank you and details about his memorial will follow

Taylor,

Sleep is hard to come by for me this past week. I need to wake up early tomorrow, but this tragedy has been weighing heavily on my mind. On behalf of my brothers who may find it difficult to comment on this thread because our own tragedy is still so near and dear to us, please allow me to offer our deepest, sincere condolences. I know it may seem difficult to compare the loss of a friend to the loss of a spouse or a child, but please know that we are with you in spirit. The 14ers.com and mountaineering community in general are the most remarkable people that I have had the privilege to be a part of. Not only do we celebrate each others' triumphs -- we bear the weight of each others' tragedies as well. Please reach out to anyone who know Chris; I'm positive that he/she will offer not only words to ease your pain, but actions that will help you should you need them.

Again, we are so very, very sorry for your loss.

I am sadden by your loss. Words cannot soften the pain you must feel. On my next climb, and all those to follow, I will think of Chris and all those who passed while pursuing their passion for climbing.

So sad.. he was far too young. So sorry for your loss Taylor. I was looking forward to meeting Chris as we shared a lot of the same goals in the mountains. He seemed very genuine and humble.. and I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to hike with him.

Taylor,

To echo the sentiment of the many who have posted before me in this thread, thank you for informing us of this situation during such a difficult time. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, as the pain must be enormous in such a situation. I think your idea of a 14'er-based memorial service is a great idea, and a wonderful way to honor the memory of a climber that you cared deeply for (what climber wouldn't want to be remembered that way).
