One mistake and they are dead because their owner drug them up on a mountain thinking it would never happen to "THEIR" beast of a dog that is so strong and smart and blah blah blah. One dead dog on a mountain is too many! How many dogs die on a 14er every year that we don't know about? I bet it is far more than any of you would ever admit...

Probably less of them than their owners, turdburglar. Begone! Back to beneath your bridge!

The pack on Mt. Belford Friday 8, August 2012, also a token Italian Greyhound. I apologize for the people messing up the pic.

Too bad these two rescues ended up with us... They hate our weekend activities!

Kala the wunderdawg... got her in 2009 from New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue... they do a wonderful job. I'm sold forever on Heelers. great mountain dogs... Kala has been on 4 14ers, several 13ers and countless Wyoming back country hikes. She's also an unofficial Trip Leader with the Colorado Mtn Club

here she is on Mt Democrat Saddle and meeting a new friend on Quandry.... (she's clipped into my pack, that's as close as they got)

Coot and Klondike. Coot has 24 peaks under his collar to include Snowmass (via west slopes)

I'm pretty sure I recognize some of these dogs from our climbs.

Izzy is a 9 year old, 11lb mix, probably Chihuahua and Cairn? He was picked up as a stray on streets of South Central LA when he was about 6 weeks old. I got him from the pound when he was 8 weeks. Best dog ever. He likes making people reconsider their thoughts about small dogs - I tend to refer to him as "portable" rather than "little."

Louie the Bloodhound. Never made it it to Colorado, but he climbed many 14ers. In fact he may have climbed most of the 1400' mountains in the Ozarks. :-D

Here is Timber, my faithful companion on trails around the U.S. He loved the snow and was always ready to roll.

My dog Miles Davis on Harvard. He's been on or near the summit of 30+ 14ers so far.
