Skip -

Had a similar experience long ago while a passenger behind my brother ... fall, at night on a county road in central WI. Had an 8-pointer clear the front wheel just in front of the fairing on his Moto Guzzi - Had he not hit the brakes hard (I was up to the gas tank with my bother in front of me!) the outcome would have been similar (but worse from highway + speeds). Had many other near-misses on 2 wheels myself. Once had a large black bear come out of the ditch and run down my lane as I slowed and passed him - always thought that had the potential to be unpleasant - laying on the pavement tangled with an injured and angry bear...

Good reminder to all to stay alert out there - 'tis the season for members of the family Cervidae to be on the move. I am not familiar but I would think its similar in CO with hunting season and the rut and all...
