Need a climbing partner? Trying to form a hiking group for an outing?

Thanks. Yeah, the winds seem a lot worse this winter, at least the last half of this winter. Brian and I were ridiculously close to the summit on Saturday, above the White/Sherman saddle. I think it took no more than ten minutes to summit from where Brian and I left the saddle on Saturday.

Yesterday had its own teeth - when that white-out enveloped us, it was a little spooky navigating off the summit - we chose to descend our ascent route, which took us across the east slopes; very broad, low angle, featureless. We could easily have been headed for Little Sacramento Gulch before we knew it. Nothing like a little IFR excitement to top off an interesting day.

By the way, Jay -

Matt was totally enamored with the classic snowshoes, calling them "woodies."

I'd love to see a photo of the snowshoes and a little history on them. Pretty cool...

I will be happy to email you some pictures of them. I actually have 3 different pair - in varying sizes. And I'll include a little of their (and my) history...
