Canyoneering Utah March 11-13

Postby Scott P » Sat Mar 05, 2011 9:57 pm

Is anyone interested in doing some canyoneering next weekend?

I was hoping to do a fairly mild one at a leisurely pace (I'm thinking of bringing at least one kid); probably North Fork Robbers Roost or Lower Larry Canyon.

Quandary Canyon in the Swell would be another possibility.

We're hitting the North Wash weekend after. Always wanted to try Quandary though. I think "Larry" may be my favorite all-time though. but then there's Alcatraz....

Here's Larry's:

Scott,

Depending on how the weather pans out this week and next in CO, if snow conditions are bad then Kiefer and I may head out to Utah for part of my spring break (12th-16th). We were considering Temple and Mexican Mountains in the Swell, but adding some canyoneering would make for a great trip. We probably won't make a final decision on our plans until after this next winter storm pans out though. I'll keep you updated, but it would be great to get out with you into some Utah canyons!

Upper Larry is probably still my favorite in the Roost as well even though it's been 12 years since I've done it. Alcatraz probably ties for 1st for me too.

This time I think we'll do lower Larry since the upper part is likely filled with water.
