I see that Google Maps can be chosen as the main homepage graphic in the display settings for users. It would then pop up every time those users log in or go back to the homepage.
I'm not sure how many people use that (random 14 slideshow is where it's at) but it may be worth removing that as an option to cut back on Maps usage when it's not needed.

I reduced the amount of Google Map usage dramatically by requiring users to be logged into the site to use certain pages but it wasn't enough, so I've had to also add the requirement to the individual route description Google Maps. I may also have to add it to the main map page OR I'll put a captcha ("I'm not a robot") widget on there to reduce public use.
