I'm showing my ignorance here. My account here is new and I hope to get some information about the downloads available on the routes pages. What are the advantages of the 3 different download options? GPX route, GPX track or google earth KML. Thanks for the help, I'm a bit of a luddite sometimes.

The KML file can be used to preview your route in Google Earth on a computer or mobile device.

GPX files can be loaded to a gps device or mobile phone app so you can see the route line on your device's map, while you're hiking. Most gps devices have pc/mac software that can be used to load the GPX file and various mobile apps allow for GPX file import.

As far as "route" vs. "track" GPX file, gps devices/apps have different functionality for displaying a simple track or for following a route line.

I hope this helps
