14er Short Film - Within Weakness

Post by wtrimble »

I just released a personal short film I think this community would appreciate.

Within Weakness shares how cerebral palsy hinders my strength and coordination on the right side of my body, but it hasn’t thwarted my goal to climb all 54 of Colorado’s fourteeners. Along the way, I discovered great strength within weakness, though tragedy taught me these adventures could cost me everything.

wtrimble,

An a word: WOW!

Very impressed with your mental fortitude and continued desire to be up in the alpine air! I appreciate that you described your “identity” as “not a medical condition” in addition to your candid narrative about the experience of climbing 14ers. Moreover, the inclusion of Steve’s story was an exceptional addition; tragedy is, unfortunately, a trademark of this pursuit.

Thoroughly enjoyed the film! I encourage you to submit to places where your story can be more widely seen/heard... indy film festivals...? Your story and continued journey is inspiring and goes to show that with determination, great things are possible.

Congratulations on not only the accomplishment, yet also the technical skills to pull off a well-designed film. =D>

Thanks for sharing your film, Wesley; it was very nicely done. Congrats on powering through challenges that few of us can fully understand.

BTW, you need to update your peak list.

Quite a story. Thanks for sharing this.
"Quicker than I can tell it, my hands failed to hold, my feet slipped, and down I went with almost an arrow’s rapidity. An eternity of thought, of life, of death, wife, and home concentrated on my mind in those two seconds. Fortunately for me, I threw my right arm around a projecting boulder which stood above the icy plain some two or three feet." Rev. Elijah Lamb

Very powerful! This was a very well done video, and I have to say pass my love to your parents, they seem total badasses and raised you well.
