Cielo Vista Southern 13ers in July

Post by Garrett »

Anyone interested in doing the southern bicentennials on Cielo Vista? I would really like to do these this summer and set a tentative date with the Ranch on July 17th. That could move to Sunday the 18th if someone needs. If you’re interested let me know and email Cielo vista.

I’m very much interested, but curious how much advance notice is needed? I’d prefer not to commit any further in advance than I have to. Can something like this be arranged days — rather than weeks — in advance?

Not sure on that. As I understand it if one other person signs up they’ll do it. Once that happens I would imagine you could add on a few days ahead but just guessing there.

Where would the starting point be? Just standard, i.e. Culebra route? Or somewhere further south?

I have Red, so I only need Vermejo, Alamosito and Purgatoire. Curious about the logistics, but if it makes sense, I would probably be in.

For others, looks like the fee is $150 per person this year, might be a touch more for something that isn't the standard Culebra/Red trip.

I saw $500/person tossed around in another thread...I could have misread or misapplying a fee for somewhere else though.

According to CPI-U, the rate of inflation is 3x higher than what it was last year. It's almost sort of a deal...

To clarify further, that $500 per person is for the northern group OR the southern group. I emailed the ranch with a plan to do Beaubien all the way through Purgatoire in a day hoping to get away with only paying $500 for everything and it was $1,000 because they don't charge per day on the ranch but for north/south groups.
