Alternatives to La Sportiva Nepals

Post by Tnesper »

I spent some time at the La Sportiva store in Boulder shopping for mid-range mountaineering boots. Something for Colorado alpine in the spring, couloir climbs, Rainier, Baker, etc. They recommended, and ordered me, the Nepal Evo GTX.

The problem, is that I'm a size 13-14 depending on the brand and even in the largest size they make, they won't fit. This is a problem I have with La Sportiva in general. So, I was wondering what alternatives do ya'll recommend for the same type of terrain as the Nepal?

I have the same size feet as you and as I like to tell the people who gush over La Sportiva... I do not have La Sportiva feet. That being said, my mountaineering boots are the Scarpa Mont Blanc Pro GTX. One of the more recognizable alternatives and they get the job done. I wear them year round in Colorado, with the proper gaiters and insulation during winter of course. Eventually looking to upgrade to the Scarpa Phantom Techs.

Maybe check out Zamberlan to see if they are a better fit.
