Lightweight breathable wind vest

Post by Dave B »

Looks like Arc'teryx has discontinued their Incendo vest this year, which is a bummer because I love my Incendo hoody. It's just too much for milder windy days like this morning.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a similar UL wind vest that has a modicum of breathability? I tried Mont Bell's offerings this weekend and they all felt a little too stuffy for my tastes.

Option B is to buy another Incendo hoody and cut it down to a vest...

Check Amazon. I bought my favorite running shoes for three years after they were discontinued. I guess there was still a large inventory out there. The running stores only carried the latest versions.

Didn't think of that, but it looks like all they have are size small.

It's not a vest but I've had good luck for wind-only with the Patagonia Houdini. 3.7 ounces and packs down into its own pocket about the size of a banana.

Thanks, I actually had a Houdini before my Incendo hoody. Great jacket, and easier to find on sale than the Incendo --> easy to justify chopping the sleeves off.
