In the bowels of my dungeon.

Post by highpilgrim »

So, the recent thread posted by runner800m looking to let go of a tent he no longer uses got me thinking: what things do I have, still useful (but not to me), that others might like to have and put to work?

The answer, which came quickly, was maybe lots. This thread is about just that: what do you have you would be willing to part with if someone would send you money to ship it to them?

I'll start. I can post some pictures later as I'm at work and will have to go into the dungeon storeroom and get a comprehensive list and images so you can see what they are.

1) I used to have a climbing wall in a house I gave up in a divorce. I kept the climbing holds and a finger bar. The box is 16" x 18" and is full of various holds, still in good shape and clean. The fingerboard is a Metolius as I recall. The anchor screws are all there but you would need to buy the new hollow wall anchors to use them. AndrewLyonsGeibel
2) A Metolius crashpad, blue, the kind that folds up and you can carry to a crag. It's a little big to ship, but I'm coming to Colorado in the next month or two and could probably be induced to find room for it.
3) Cebe glacier glasses, like new, hardly used. All the glaciers in mizzery melted out shortly after I bought them. NatDog
4) A Coleman lantern, in plastic travel case.
5) A sleeping bag, blue, synthetic fill, rated to about 20 I think. It was a gift and used maybe 5 times. Serac. The rating might be off but I can check.
6) A USMC sleeping pad, OD green, not much in the way of cushion but that was sort of the point. It will keep you warmer though. RckyMntnHgh
7) A selection of REI quickdraws, webbing and slings. Probably 6 quickdraws and various slings. They have all been well cared for, little used and not exposed to sunlight in the storage container. ANGRY

That's a start. I'm going to go through the gear stash in the dungeon and see what else is there that someone might want. I hate to see things unused and am hoping someone will help me out!

That stuff is still being used, once the f***ing "It's Just the Flu" is over.

How old is the nylon? (It has a shelf life whether exposed to light or not)

This is a cool topic, I’m sure I have unused stuff around my house but I’ll have to look when I get home Monday. Definitely have some bicycle parts that are no longer needed, usually wouldn’t advise a used helmet, but I have some older ski helmets that I know have not taken an impact.

I have a pair of 57 year old legs I could let go. I’ll pay shipping. Can also throw in a lampshade or two to sweeten the deal.

If you do end up finding room for the crashpad, I'd love to take it!

I always wanted one of those. Now that I’m divorced, maybe I can make it happen.
