When we did Crestone Peak we had a young guy (30) with us who is a great technical climber. However he gets low blood sugar and was completely out of it on the summit. Like head slumping to the side. Anyway we fed him and he was rolling again. We did Little Bear together and he bonked just after the gulley and did not summit. I got him back to camp and I thought I would have to carry him out despite being 25 plus years older. Again I gave him my dinner and he was rolling. He just could not come to grips with the fact he had to keep eating on the climbs.
