It is completely unnecessary to use it, unless you're dealing with one. And then all the more reason to not use it.

Sorry, ask any vet and they will tell you that certain breeds of dogs are more prone to aggressive behavior-Pits, Rotties, Huskies, Chows, Dobermans....

Ask my Vet, Border Collies are an aggressive breed! While they'll never sink their teeth into you and bite until your dead, many have no problem nipping and then running away...
