I miss her. She is the embodiment of chasing (and living!) one's dream and I applaud that. I also applaud her loyalty to her friend Camilo. She got beat up pretty bad and while it may have been SLIGHTLY deserved I don't think it was handled with much character or wit. Yeah, Kimmarie needs to grow up a bit and get a little emotional toughness but I hope she never loses her child-like sense of wonder and enthusiasm for the outdoors.

I even e-mailed Bill and asked him to drop by that dive she works in and tell her she is missed (at least by me) and I hope she comes back. There are quite a few of y'all that I really like and will probably never meet, and I look forward to reading your posts every day!

I may never climb another mountain again but I sure do enjoy living vicariously through this website, and if there is anything in the world that can motivate me to change my ways it will be 14ers.com and its inhabitants. Keep on rockin!

PS: Andy - you sure as hell can lead 5.10 trad. Just seeing the wild s**t you've done leaves me NO DOUBT. One simple way to get there: go bouldering as much as you can. It will crank up your finger strength and help your footwork. And learn to trust your gear. 2 cams out of 4 actually will hold a fall... :YY

Ciao for Niao and Cheers from Here!

Ha ha... or die trying! If I can ever lead 5.8 trad (in the alpine) I'll die a happy man. That's why I wanna be a Danimal groupie - he's already there and it took him less than a year. I remember when he lead his first trad pitch and took a fall on my #3 C4... seems like yesterday... they grow up so fast.

Agree that the "chasing your dream" way-of-living is admirable.

On the other hand, there's a difference between child-like wonder and being (or at least acting like it on this board) an immature and unintelligent person at her age (21? I thought I saw 26 somewhere...). And to sign off and tell us she's giving us the finger after all the help she's gotten here? I don't think anyone's going to miss that kind of attitude.

Yeah, she is 26... the other thread titled "Forum Posting and You" is quite applicable here, as I met Kim and her boyfriend a week ago, and they were both very nice. She's just a New Yawker, and you can definitely tell when you talk to her... unbridled energy and enthusiasm. People tend to communicate in one of two ways online; they either seem intelligent and well written, or they come across as sloppy and uneducated. Bottom line: it's a free Internet forum, and no different than just about any other forum you'll come across. People find it easy to hide behind their anonymity.

The finger thing was a little over the top, and drunkenness (sp?) is never an excuse for boorishness (unless you're a frat boy). But after the thrashing she received here it wasn't all that unexpected... I hope that a few years will bring out a modicum of gentility in her. I love to say modicum. Mmmm, modicum.

Gotta admit, though, she was entertaining.

Or could it be to get just the sort of attention that she's getting right now...

I'm curious after reading all of this craziness... Has anyone ever been kicked off the site for their inappropriate behavior??

Thanks Andy, I remember how freaked out I was leading trad when you showed me. Now I cannot get enough and am only going higher. You will no doubt follow. We'll do some extreme routes in Eldo soon enough... I will always look to you for advice, laughter, and a superb choice of music as I work towards doing the Casual Route next summer!

How was Ruper? Is it cool if I start following you around so I can glorify in you accomplishments?
Ruper was sweet and definately took it out of me. A solid Eldo 5.8+ for sure. Very hot day though... Check out some pics and my route page on SP. We still need to hit up the Bastille Crack! I start school soon, but the crack can be climbed almost year round, we will find a time.

I'm not sure if that as ever happened but I can remeber one member that would be a good candidate.
