AlpineGuy, your determined Elm photo reminded me of these beauties growing on the lava covered caldera in Hawaii.

Snow covered trees on the Manitou Incline from a recent storm made the hike so much more enjoyable.

I've never seen Bear Grass in CO so I'm assuming it is mainly found in the NW Cascades. But when I came across them hiking part of the Wonderland Trail around Rainier, I thought they were the coolest plants!
