On a recent overnight backpack trip to McCurdy Park in the Lost Creek Wilderness, around sunset this moose decided to become my camp buddy. During the night, woke me up a few times making noises. And the next morning when I got up to view the sunrise he/she was about 60 to 100 feet from my camp. I was impressed just to see a moose, let alone to share a camp with one. What a surreal experience that was.
My theory is, this moose figured if a bear showed up he/she only had to outrun me and not the bear  .

Saw this today, nearly as big as my hand.

Think it's is a Dark Fishing Spider...any arachnologists out there?

EGAD I’d rather run into a grizzly than a spider that size.

Yea, it was a little freaky, as I put my hand on the rock to balance myself as I was wading in the water across the boulder strewn bottom and I see this thing a few inches from my hand.
