Pass Openings
According to CDOT, the following passes are now open for the season in time for the holiday weekend:
Independence Pass
Guanella Pass
Cottonwood Pass (BV)
Kebler Pass
San Miguel and San Juan County also both show Ophir Pass as open.
Note that some of these are plowed, so expect snow at the trailheads and snow melting onto the roads that might freeze at night. Kebler and Ophir are dirt, so probably also muddy from snowmelt.

The bushducks website is an oldie but goodie for keeping up with pass conditions and openings.

Re: Pass Openings
I moved here in 2004 and remember finding the site fairly early on, 2004 sounds right to me. I have a TR from 2005, so the site has definitely been around earlier than 2006.

Did you call them or did they post it someplace to confirm?Chicago Transplant wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 11:26 am According to CDOT, the following passes are now open for the season in time for the holiday weekend:
The CDOT site still just lists the hypothetical reopen dates but doesn't have an actual current status, same with the USFS pages:

Re: Pass Openings
2004 is when I added the phpbb forum software. We had a different forum before that but user info was not automatically transferred to the new one. I created the site in 2000 with peak pages/photos and route descriptions.rijaca wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 3:02 pmLooks like July 25, 2004 at 7:24 pm....Chicago Transplant wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 2:52 pm I moved here in 2004 and remember finding the site fairly early on, 2004 sounds right to me. Cotrip.org shows them open on their alerts page, I'm on my phone and don't know how to copy the link though.headsizeburrito wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 6:23 pmDid you call them or did they post it someplace to confirm?Chicago Transplant wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 11:26 am According to CDOT, the following passes are now open for the season in time for the holiday weekend:
