Interesting, the statute says "Inciting destruction of life or property" and the add says "destroy" so seems there would be a case.

That road to Beartown has been getting pummeled by those people year in year out. There's one section along that shelf as you climb steeply out of the Gold Mine tour that looks like it might collapse any day now. And I've gotten in more than 1 verbal altercation with OHV'ers on the ethics of the right of way.

Is it that they don't *believe* in the ROW rules? I mean, it wouldn't surprise me...lordhelmut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 10:37 am <snip> I've gotten in more than 1 verbal altercation with OHV'ers on the ethics of the right of way.

You guys are cherry picking and reaching. A poster or ad for a sxs isn't seditious. It has to do with the overthrow of the government. You can read the jury instructions for 18-11-202 if you are so inclined...Chicago Transplant wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 10:03 am Interesting, the statute says "Inciting destruction of life or property" and the add says "destroy" so seems there would be a case.
Now excuse me, I'm going to go destroy my dinner.

BTW, news last night in Colorado Springs reports Silverton city council has banned the Pledge of Allegiance at their meetings. So with their attitudes on ORVs, tourists (remember the marshal blocking people from town during the chinese virus scare?) and now this, it appears soft totalitarianism has arrived. Another episode of the blue locusts taking over the town.
...let me remind you of the pilgrim who asked for an audience with the Dalai Lama.
He was told he must first spend five years in contemplation. After the five years, he was ushered into the Dalai Lama's presence, who said, 'Well, my son, what do you wish to know?' So the pilgrim said, 'I wish to know the meaning of life, father.'
And the Dalai Lama smiled and said, 'Well my son, life is like a beanstalk, isn't it?'
procol harum

Wouldn't stopping a mandated pledge of allegiance to the state be the exact opposite of totalitarianism?

Yeah. Not a good move. The guy was doing a great job getting the OHV problem in town cleaned up. Not sure why he now is wanting to piss off nearly everyone.

Wonderful news out of Silverton today. Looking forward to spending more time down there without having to deal with the OHV plague in town at least.
Hopefully they are restricted or banned on the Alpine Loop soon as well.

Re: Silverton city limits OHV/SxS ban
Someone fill me in on why everyone seems to hate OHV's? I love seeing them on the road when I go to Lake City and other mtn towns -- like a cool feature of a different culture. I also think if I were to rent one that I'd want to be able to drive around town -- especially in a place like Lake City or Silverton where things like the alpine loop are at your doorstep. The speed limits in small towns tend to be slow anyway, and they have to follow the same laws as cars (correct me if I'm wrong on this). They can't be any more of a nuisance than cyclists and their vehicular napoleon complexes...
