Emperor Couloir - Road Status
Anyone have recent beta on the road from I70 up to the Grizzly Gulch split for Emperor Couloir? Is it drivable up to that point?
Re: Emperor Couloir - Road Status
Heard from people who went up there last Saturday that the entire Steven's Gulch road is snow covered.

Re: Emperor Couloir - Road Status
Thanks for the update guys. May wait a couple of weeks then.
Re: Emperor Couloir - Road Status
I know not the rules of the road but after skiing Lost Rat on Sunday, we came up on a Subaru Outback way up the road. By the little bridge crossing. Saw a truck stuck maybe halfway up the road. Probably turned into an ice/slush fest with the heat. Road was easily skiable with the exception of maybe 2 spots that were very thin.

Would it really be Spring without a Subaru stuck up there?

Re: Emperor Couloir - Road Status
It wouldn't be spring without having a couple/few vehicles stuck on that road. It's like an annual rite.
There's a truck stuck on Kendall Mountain outside Silverton as well.
Perhaps if the stuck Subaru sees its shadow, we get a few more weeks of stuck vehicles?
