Fourmile Campground

Post by gonefishing05 »

Anyone know if this campground is accessible in winter? I am looking for a place to camp the night before sherman and sheridan. Any recommendations if it is not?

Thanks.

I noticed it had closed gate to the entrance when I drove by it a couple of weeks ago.
I should be on a mountain

Hoosier Pass is pretty close- there's plenty of accessible camping off the little road that goes back on the right side of the parking lot. otherwise... Lost Creek Wilderness 8)

Prior (on the road) to the Fourmile campground is the Horseshoe Campground where you'll find a better option. Turn left down toward the campground and before you reach the campground closure gate, there's a parking area for about 8 vehicles. Park there and walk around the gate to camp at whatever site you want.

This assumes we don't get a dump of snow before your trip.
