Hoping and praying for the best in the search for Ling Dao, who was reported missing on June 14...

So if I read that first article correctly, the car rental company claimed he had turned the vehicle back in on the 14th, then said it was the 15th, when in reality, he hadn't returned the vehicle at all?

California Sierras have have had very high snow like Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.
I wonder if this was a factor in this case.

Too bad they didn't name the rental company. You could likely rent a car from them and "forget" to return it. Apparently they wouldn't notice.

If they found him on the north face, I would guess that he went past where the MR turns right/east on the way down.
