Splitboard Mt. Belford

Post by Been_Jammin »

Has anyone been up to Mt. Belford or the Missouri Gulch trailhead lately?

Existing condition reports are stale. I want to ride the Northwest Gully this spring and would prefer to start at the trailhead proper. Please spray some beta this way!!

Has anyone spring skied Belford this season yet? A legit conditions update on Northwest Gully would be much appreciated.

The most recent CR from 4/9 has a picture of the NW gully, looked filled in at the bottom, but not quite to the summit, hard to tell though. Sometimes you've got to be the beta!

Ya the poster of that 4/9 picture said in the comments they didn't climb Belford... so didn't want to take that report/pic at face value.

Weather forecast doesn't look great for this weekend. Next weekend I'll just have to be the beta!

Your beta prayers were answered by Posthole Pete in a new CR. And yeah, weather this weekend is looking less than ideal as of now

Thanks Posthole Pete! Belford looks like it is in good shape. If the forecast this week comes to fruition (more snow) next weekend might be bomber.

I saw this a little late, haha.

Was a fun ride. 4k of continuous riding for a so-so snow year was a treat.

I think I will go back for that East facing bowl sometime.

Ha! better late than never. I ended up splitting Belford... from the top of the gully not the summit. Twas a fun ride indeed. Gatekeepers need not worry...my list is accurate.
