Pikes. Who wants to be on a mountain with 1500 other people, of whom 1450 of them drove up there? It's a construction site at 14,000 feet. Yuck.
I climbed on Thanksgiving Day once just so the road would be closed and there'd be no tourists there. Get the photo, check the box, get the heck off.

Pardon my ignorance since I haven't climbed it yet, but why the hate for Princeton?

The snow climbs on the north side are a lot of fun and getting to the top without a tourist throwing trash on you while climbing gets you "extra points!". Also, running the Pikes Peak marathon is a great way to tag this summit with joy!pbarn wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 5:55 pm Pikes. Princeton is a fantastic climb, especially for people just getting into 14ers. So lots of people just getting into 14ers climb Princeton and then realize that they don't really like anything about climbing 14ers. After that, blame the experience on the mountain.
Well, that is my theory on why all the hate for Princeton.

14er.com is a Colorado based group. Take your hate somewhere back west.

I voted for Challenger Point. While there are many things about it that I enjoyed, it was easily my least favorite descent off of a 14er.

Given that Cameron is not part of the discussion, what is your least favorite 14er?

It seems a lot of people have trouble with the large amount of talus hopping on Princeton.
Be the best you that you can be.

Re: Which is your least favorite/most hated 14er?
How is the new 14er initiative trail coming along on Challenger? I had a hard time on this one once too, but there are so many ways to make this peak difficult. I would almost chime in here, but there is a "right way" to descend off Challenger. if you miss it, you will hate it. so for now, I am putting Challenger on the bottom of my "favorite 14er" list.pmreyn2010 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 7:39 pm I voted for Challenger Point. Maroon Peak is pretty close though.

Maroon Peak.
Why this? The parking nightmare first.
And then? The 3,000' of suck.
Is there any other peak that has a reputation for just being tedious? It was not the technical difficulty that caused death, but the monotony that has literally killed people. And it is not much fun, up or down.
