Summiting Colorado's Peaks Above 13,000'

Post by rockchalker »

While on a mountain goat hunt with my son in the Elk Mountains two weeks ago I met a lady and her friend who were headed up to bag a peak, maybe two, in the +13,000' elevation status. Sounded like she only lacked around 7 of the 637 peaks in CO over 13,000', quite an accomplishment. I assume there is a list somewhere of all of who have accomplished this feat? I think her name was Beth, from the Denver area. I was impressed.

That might have been Beth Dwyer. I know she's getting fairly close to finishing the 13ers.

Kevin Baker is 37 on the CMC list and there's a few after him.

Kevin Baker 2018
Kent Beverly 2019
Cindy Annie 2019
Nicholas Baki 2019
Jon MacManus 2020
Terri Horvath 2020

I'm not sure where to find 30-36.

That's a pretty amazing list and unlike any list of 14er or centennial finishers, it is probably pretty close to complete.
Absolutely amazing to me that anyone has climbed all of these. The stories these folks have must be legendary.

It was not Beth Dwyer. I was contacted separately by two people after this post.
Good for whomever the Beth is who is that close to completion.

I don't see Alyson Kirk on that list. Pretty sure she's done everything over 10,000 feet in the state. John Kirk and Teresa Gergen would also be on the 10K list. Not sure who else, if anyone.

Couple of more adds for you (Susan, I think Alyson finished in 2017 on Peak 9?)...

Duane Nelson
Dave Hahn
Roger Linfield
Michael Davis - 2019
Vadim Beliav - 9/18/20 West Elk
Michael Rodenak - 5/16/21 Star

I also believe Mike Hruza has finished now as well but am not sure?

(edited, I took D H Gold off my adds list, he was already there at #11 on Jon's lists as I didn't realize his screen name was abbreviated!)

Yes, Alyson should be there. She just wasn't on the sources I cut and pasted. I agree that she'd be in the missing numbers I couldn't find.

Yep, but hey - look what I just found: https://listsofjohn.com/PeakStats/ec.php?State=CO

Not sure if you have to log in to view it, but if you scroll down a bit, you get the list of LOJers who have finished.

Haha, Well this thread reminded me to submit to CMC, so I guess I forgot about me too

That LOJ list shows DH Gold finishing 9/8/15, now I am not sure he and Dave Goldwater are the same person? Sorry, Dave! We have never met #-o
