Snowmass Mountain East Ridge?

Post by dthurmer »

Hi All,

Anybody know where this beautiful ridge is (first foto in the article with text "Aerial images taken from 14,000 feet show dirty snow across the Elk Mountains, part of the Colorado River system that supplies water to 40 million Americans.", sorry it would not let me copy the image...)? I think it is kind of the east ridge leading up to Snowmass, but not sure. Looks like it would be a great line to follow!

Yes, that is Snowmass Mountain. The photo is taken slightly northeast of the summit. Satan's Ridge, the connecting ridge to Capitol Peak, runs off to the right.

That is in fact the east ridge of North Snowmass. I have a picture from above in my TR here: https://14ers.com/php14ers/tripreport.php?trip=19972. Props to anyone that tackles the route & they had better put up a TR! (Gonna be a nail biter! :-SS )
I'm horrible with names...
But will never forget a mountain's face!
