Teleporting to a Peak: What it takes

Post by Dignus »

Which methods are considered legitimate? If you use a wormhole it seems that would be fine, but if you beam someone up to the top their atoms have been disassembled and reconstructed anew, so is it really the same person who claims the summit?

If you don't use black holes, it doesn't count.

OK, actual question that is somewhat related: if you climbed to the top of a mountain carrying a squirrel suit, and then jumped from the top and glided down, would it count? (Obviously would only work on some 14ers.)

“Any man was capable of jaunting provided he developed two faculties, visualization and concentration. He had to visualize, completely and precisely, the spot to which he desired to teleport himself; and he had to concentrate the latent energy of his mind into a single thrust to get him there. Above all, he had to have faith.”

If Captain Kirk's involved, we're definitely back to the Sex on a Summit thread.

Yeah, these could totally be sister threads. Capt Kirk’s “going where no man has gone before” could apply to three or four of these “what it takes” threads;)

John Kirk? Is that how he bagged all those peaks?

At least Captain Kirk still attempted to free solo El Capitan despite all the technology available to him.
