Mt Evans Road

Post by Mitsugi »

Anybody know when or if this road is opening this year? Most of Colorado is now in COVID "code blue" so I really hope it opens this time around.

It typically opens memorial day weekend. They supposedly did a lot of improvements on it this past summer so I'm guessing it'll open this year.

When I went, it was a joyous moving parade of people walking, cycling, roller blading, etc. I didn't see any mention of improving the road. Except no cars? That seemed an improvement

I think they were supposed to improve the road. They didn’t. Or at least there was no way I’d ride my roadie over those frost splits. My mountain bike was better able to handle that nasty road.

I hope I get to ride it again before cars are allowed up.

Widen the tires, lower the pressure and lean back!
