If the weather cooperates... I'm in! I am new to mountaineering, and even newer to ham radio. I pursued both independently not knowing that SOTA (Summit On The Air) combined the two interests. I have summited twenty 14ers so far, and have never seen anyone activating from a summit. So, I am fired up to join the rare breed of mountaineering people who are also hams. Looking in the SOTA website I saw that there are still some eligible 14ers that have never been activated! They are calling my name... no better time than the 10-10-10 event.

I wonder... if SOTA is considered by some to be the biathlon for geeks... are there triathletes who climb 14ers, activate, and then ski down?
